Pastor-Elect

After a 5-year search, the membership of Second Baptist celebrates the installation of pastor-elect Reverend Laphon Flood-Francis. Rev. Flood-Francis graduated from historic Morehouse College in May 2020 with a BA in Religion and Philosophy. He went on to pursue a Master of Divinity at Princeton Theological Seminary in May 2023. He is on fire for Jesus and looking to share God’s transformative life-giving word with residents of Pittsburgh and beyond. Having all the “old school” mannerisms and rhetoric, Rev. Flood-Francis tailors to both older and younger generations when preaching the gospel. His sermons are educational equipment to help us navigate the sinful social climate we face today. Second Baptist is growing in fellowship, community, and family while giving glorious praise to the Most High. Be encouraged and live for God rather than the world.
